By this I know that certainly I favour'd am by thee; Because my hateful enemy triumphs not over me.
Bless'd be the Lord, who to their teeth us gave not for a prey.
But in all those that do him fear the Lord doth pleasure take; In those that to his mercy do by hope themselves betake.
Shew me a sign for good, that they which do me hate may see, And be asham'd; because thou, Lord, didst help and comfort me.
O Lord, I trust in thee: My God, let me not be asham'd, nor foes triumph o'er me.
Nor let them say within their hearts, Ah, we would have it thus; Nor suffer them to say, that he is swallow'd up by us.
And thou hast not inclosed me within the en'my's hand; And by thee have my feet been made in a large room to stand.
Lest that mine enemy should say, Against him I prevail'd; And those that trouble me rejoice, when I am mov'd and fail'd.
