Lord, thou hast seen, hold not thy peace; Lord, be not far from me.
Wherefore is it that thou, O Lord, dost stand from us afar? And wherefore hidest thou thyself, when times so troublous are?
To thee I'll cry, O Lord, my rock; hold not thy peace to me; Lest like those that to pit descend I by thy silence be.
Be thou not far from me, my God: thy speedy help I crave.
Forsake me not, O Lord; my God, far from me never be.
Be not far off, for grief is near, and none to help is found.
Keep not, O God, we thee entreat, O keep not silence now: Do thou not hold thy peace, O God, and still no more be thou.
Because I silence kept, while thou these things hast wrought; That I was altogether like thyself, hath been thy thought; Yet I will thee reprove, and set before thine eyes, In order ranked, thy misdeeds and thine iniquities.
Attend my cry, Lord, at my tears and pray'rs not silent be: I sojourn as my fathers all, and stranger am with thee.
But be not far, O Lord, my strength; haste to give help to me.
Thou hast it seen; for their mischief and spite thou wilt repay: The poor commits himself to thee; thou art the orphan's stay.
Bulls many compass me, strong bulls of Bashan me surround.
