God doth the counsel bring to nought which heathen folk do take; And what the people do devise of none effect doth make.
For they beyond their might 'gainst thee did plot mischief and wrong.
Unto the wicked man, O Lord, his wishes do not grant; Nor further thou his ill device, lest they themselves should vaunt.
The heathen are sunk in the pit which they themselves prepar'd; And in the net which they have hid their own feet fast are snar'd.
