O Lord, my soul thou hast brought up, and rescu'd from the grave; That I to pit should not go down, alive thou didst me save.

Because thy mercy toward me in greatness doth excel; And thou deliver'd hast my soul out from the lowest hell.

To thee I'll cry, O Lord, my rock; hold not thy peace to me; Lest like those that to pit descend I by thy silence be.

Because my soul in grave to dwell shall not be left by thee; Nor wilt thou give thine Holy One corruption to see.

For my distressed soul from death deliver'd was by thee: Thou didst my mourning eyes from tears, my feet from falling, free.

Thou, Lord, who great adversities, and sore, to me didst show, Shalt quicken, and bring me again from depths of earth below.

Wilt thou not, who from death me sav'd, my feet from falls keep free, To walk before God in the light of those that living be?

He sends his word, them heals, and them from their destructions frees.
