Far from me hide not thou thy face; put not away from thee Thy servant in thy wrath: thou hast an helper been to me. O God of my salvation, leave me not, nor forsake:
Nor from thy servant hide thy face: I'm troubled, soon attend.
Haste, Lord, to hear, my spirit fails: hide not thy face from me; Lest like to them I do become that go down to the dust.
And in the day of my distress hide not thy face from me. Give ear to me; what time I call, to answer me make haste:
He from th' Eternal shall receive the blessing him upon, And righteousness, ev'n from the God of his salvation.
To all men I have judgment done, performing justice right; Then let me not be left unto my fierce oppressors' might.
Lord God, my Saviour, day and night before thee cry'd have I.
Cast me not from thy sight, nor take thy Holy Sp'rit away.
O wherefore hidest thou thy face? forgett'st our cause distress'd,
How long wilt thou forget me, Lord? shall it for ever be? O how long shall it be that thou wilt hide thy face from me?
Draw near my soul, and it redeem; me from my foes defend.
For, as an hearth, my bones are burnt, my days, like smoke, do waste.
