O Lord, instruct me in thy way, to me a leader be In a plain path, because of those that hatred bear to me.
Because of those mine enemies, Lord, in thy righteousness Do thou me lead; do thou thy way make straight before my face.
Teach me thy way, and in thy truth, O Lord, then walk will I; Unite my heart, that I thy name may fear continually.
My foot upon an even place doth stand with stedfastness: Within the congregations th' Eternal I will bless.
Unfeignedly thee have I sought with all my soul and heart: O let me not from the right path of thy commands depart.
They have search'd out iniquities, a perfect search they keep: Of each of them the inward thought, and very heart, is deep.
The meek in judgment he will guide, and make his path to know.
What man is he that fears the Lord, and doth him serve? Him shall he teach the way that he shall choose, and still observe.
Unto mine enemies he shall mischief and ill repay: O for thy truth's sake cut them off, and sweep them clean away.
For in their mouth there is no truth, their inward part is ill; Their throat's an open sepulchre, their tongue doth flatter still.
And see if any wicked way there be at all in me; And in thine everlasting way to me a leader be.
