JEHOVAH hear thee in the day when trouble he doth send: And let the name of Jacob's God thee from all ill defend.
Though I in midst of trouble walk, I life from thee shall have: 'Gainst my foes' wrath thou'lt stretch thine hand; thy right hand shall me save.
Our God, who is the Lord of hosts, is still upon our side; The God of Jacob our refuge for ever will abide.
That men may know that thou, to whom alone doth appertain The name JEHOVAH, dost most high o'er all the earth remain.
God is our refuge and our strength, in straits a present aid;
Help us from trouble; for the help is vain which man supplies.
He Judah did his sanctuary, his kingdom Isr'el make:
Together let my saints unto me gather'd be, Those that by sacrifice have made a covenant with me.
The Lord of hosts upon our side doth constantly remain: The God of Jacob's our refuge, us safely to maintain.
My fortress is the Lord, My rock, and he that doth to me deliverance afford: My God, my strength, whom I will trust, a buckler unto me, The horn of my salvation, and my high tow'r, is he.
And they that know thy name, in thee their confidence will place: For thou hast not forsaken them that truly seek thy face.
Blessed is he that wisely doth the poor man's case consider; For when the time of trouble is, the Lord will him deliver.
