Thine hand send from above, me save; from great depths draw me out; And from the hand of children strange,
From heav'n he shall send down, and me from his reproach defend That would devour me: God his truth and mercy forth shall send.
Thou mad'st me free from people's strife, and heathen's head to be: A people whom I have not known shall service do to me.
For this shall ev'ry godly one his prayer make to thee; In such a time he shall thee seek, as found thou mayest be. Surely, when floods of waters great do swell up to the brim, They shall not overwhelm his soul, nor once come near to him.
