I know God will th' afflicted's cause maintain, and poor men's right.
For thou maintain'dst my right and cause; on throne sat'st judging right.
The prayer of the destitute he surely will regard; Their prayer will he not despise, by him it shall be heard.
And all my bones shall say, O Lord, who is like unto thee, Which dost the poor set free from him that is for him too strong; The poor and needy from the man that spoils and does him wrong?
The people's poor ones he shall judge, the needy's children save; And those shall he in pieces break who them oppressed have.
For he despis'd not nor abhorr'd th' afflicted's misery; Nor from him hid his face, but heard when he to him did cry.
God shall cut off all flatt'ring lips, tongues that speak proudly thus,
We'll with our tongue prevail, our lips are ours: who's lord o'er us?
