Their land in heritage to have: (for mercy hath he ever.)
And for a wealthy heritage their pleasant land he gave, An heritage which Israel, his chosen folk, should have.
And unto them the pleasant lands he of the heathen gave; That of the people's labour they inheritance might have.
The nations of Canaan, by his almighty hand, Before their face he did expel out of their native land; Which for inheritance to them by line he did divide, And made the tribes of Israel within their tents abide.
