In my distress I call'd on God, cry to my God did I; He from his temple heard my voice, to his ears came my cry.

I in distress call'd on the Lord; the Lord did answer me: He in a large place did me set, from trouble made me free.

And call upon me when in trouble thou shalt be; I will deliver thee, and thou my name shalt glorify.

Lord, from the depths to thee I cry'd.

I joy'd when to the house of God, Go up, they said to me.

I to the hills will lift mine eyes, from whence doth come mine aid.

And in the day of my distress hide not thy face from me. Give ear to me; what time I call, to answer me make haste:

Oft did they vex me from my youth, may Isr'el now declare;

Bless'd is each one that fears the Lord, and walketh in his ways;

When Sion's bondage God turn'd back, as men that dream'd were we.

O thou that dwellest in the heav'ns, I lift mine eyes to thee.

Whoso doth offer praise me glorifies; and I Will shew him God's salvation, that orders right his way.
