Confirm to me thy gracious word, which I did gladly hear, Ev'n to thy servant, Lord, who is devoted to thy fear.
But in all those that do him fear the Lord doth pleasure take; In those that to his mercy do by hope themselves betake.
But unto them that do him fear God's mercy never ends; And to their children's children still his righteousness extends:
Such pity as a father hath unto his children dear; Like pity shews the Lord to such as worship him in fear.
For as the heaven in its height the earth surmounteth far; So great to those that do him fear his tender mercies are:
He will accomplish the desire of those that do him fear: He also will deliver them, and he their cry will hear.
Remember, Lord, thy gracious word thou to thy servant spake, Which, for a ground of my sure hope, thou causedst me to take.
This word of thine my comfort is in mine affliction: For in my straits I am reviv'd by this thy word alone.
O let thy kindness merciful, I pray thee, comfort me, As to thy servant faithfully was promised by thee.
After thy word revive thou me: save me, and plead my cause.
