Thou hast rebuk'd the cursed proud, who from thy precepts swerve.
Unfeignedly thee have I sought with all my soul and heart: O let me not from the right path of thy commands depart.
Thou tread'st down all that love to stray; false their deceit doth prove.
I err'd not from them, though for me the wicked snares did set.
Though God be high, yet he respects all those that lowly be; Whereas the proud and lofty ones afar off knoweth he.
Lord, let the proud ashamed be; for they, without a cause, With me perversely dealt: but I will muse upon thy laws.
