My zeal hath ev'n consumed me, because mine enemies Thy holy words forgotten have, and do thy laws despise.
Because the zeal did eat me up, which to thine house I bear; And the reproaches cast at thee, upon me fallen are.
These workers of iniquity, do they not know at all, That they my people eat as bread, and on God do not call?
My tears and fasts, t' afflict my soul, were turned to my shame.
