According to thy faithful word uphold and stablish me, That I may live, and of my hope ashamed never be.
O Lord, I trust in thee: My God, let me not be asham'd, nor foes triumph o'er me.
The Lord my God my helper is, lo, therefore I am bold: He taketh part with ev'ry one that doth my soul uphold.
Although he fall, yet shall he not be cast down utterly; Because the Lord with his own hand upholds him mightily.
For sinners' arms shall broken be; but God the just sustains.
My soul thee follows hard; and me thy right hand doth sustain.
When I had uttered this word, (my foot doth slip away,) Thy mercy held me up, O Lord, thy goodness did me stay.
But as for me, thou me uphold'st in mine integrity; And me before thy countenance thou sett'st continually.
Then shall I not be sham'd, when I thy precepts all respect.
With me thy servant, in thy grace, deal bountifully, Lord: That by thy favor I may live, and duly keep thy word.
