The Lord doth take my part with them that help to succour me: Therefore on those that do me hate I my desire shall see.
He of my mercy that is God betimes shall me prevent; Upon mine en'mies God shall let me see mine heart's content.
The Lord my God my helper is, lo, therefore I am bold: He taketh part with ev'ry one that doth my soul uphold.
For he hath me delivered from all adversities; And his desire mine eye hath seen upon mine enemies.
He hath my soul delivered, that it in peace might be From battle that against me was; for many were with me.
His heart is firmly stablished, afraid he shall not be, Until upon his enemies he his desire shall see.
Mine eyes shall also my desire see on mine enemies; Mine ears shall of the wicked hear that do against me rise.
I will a sacrifice to thee give with free willingness; Thy name, O Lord, because 'tis good, with praise I will confess.
Them slay not, lest my folk forget; but scatter them abroad By thy strong pow'r; and bring them down, O thou our shield and God.
