But wicked men, and foes of God, as fat of lambs, decay; They shall consume, yea, into smoke they shall consume away.

Because my life with grief is spent, my years with sighs and groans: My strength doth fail; and for my sin consumed are my bones.

For like a bottle I'm become, that in the smoke is set: I'm black, and parch'd with grief; yet I thy statutes not forget.

And in my flesh there is no health, nor soundness any more. This grief I have, because thy wrath is forth against me gone; And in my bones there is no rest, for sin that I have done.

Far from me hide not thou thy face; put not away from thee Thy servant in thy wrath: thou hast an helper been to me. O God of my salvation, leave me not, nor forsake:

Because thou art my rock, and thee I for my fortress take; Therefore do thou me lead and guide, ev'n for thine own name's sake.
