then did Yehoshua again to them speak, so to say; I am the light of the world; the one, who obeys/follows me after, will at any case not live in the darkness, but will have the light of life.
did Yehoshua to them say: still a short while is this light among you (PL). go then in the light while you (PL) have it, so that the darkness shall (on) you (PL) not fall; and the one, who go in the darkness, knows not where he goes.
because all, which becomes revealed, is light. therefore says He: wake up, you (SG) sleeper, and stand up from the dead, and the Moshiach will you give light! (Yeshayah 60, 1)
the people, who was sat in the darkness, have seen a great light, and to those, who are sat in a land and in shadow of death, for them has a light dawned. (Yeshayah 9, 1-2)
that the Moshiach will suffer, and that He, the first to rise resurrection of the dead ones, will proclaim a light to the (Jewish) people and to the nations (of the world).
and this life is revealed become, and we have seen and bear witness and declare to you this eternal life, which was with the Father and has self appear to us (Shlichim)—
I, Yehoshua, have sent My angel, witness to say to you (PL) the these things for the kehiles. I am the Root and the Branch (Yehoshua; Zecharyah 3, 8; 6, 11-12) of David (Yeshayah 11, 1, 10), the brighter morning star.
and this is the condemnation: that light has come into the world into, and the men have rather had the darkness than the light; because their deeds have been evil.
that, which was from the beginning on, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have considered and our hands have touched, about the Word of life—
