Let the groans of the prisoners come before you; according to your great power, preserve those doomed to die.
to hear the groans of the prisoners, to set free those who were doomed to die,
to open the eyes that are blind, to bring out the prisoners from the dungeon, from the prison those who sit in darkness.
O Lord, be gracious to us; we wait for you. Be our arm every morning, our salvation in the time of trouble.
For the Lord hears the needy and does not despise his own who are in bonds.
“Because the poor are despoiled, because the needy groan, I will now rise up,” says the Lord; “I will place them in the safety for which they long.”
Now to him who by the power at work within us is able to accomplish abundantly far more than all we can ask or imagine,
And do not bring us to the time of trial, but rescue us from the evil one.
so that the name of the Lord may be declared in Zion and his praise in Jerusalem,
