For not from the east or from the west and not from the wilderness comes lifting up,

But you, O Lord, are a shield around me, my glory, and the one who lifts up my head.

running stubbornly against him with a thickly bossed shield;

who rules by his might forever, whose eyes keep watch on the nations— let the rebellious not exalt themselves. Selah

I myself know his insolence, says the Lord; his boasts are false; his deeds are false.
