For not from the east or from the west and not from the wilderness comes lifting up,

running stubbornly against him with a thickly bossed shield;

But you, O Lord, are a shield around me, my glory, and the one who lifts up my head.

who rules by his might forever, whose eyes keep watch on the nations— let the rebellious not exalt themselves. Selah

I myself know his insolence, says the Lord; his boasts are false; his deeds are false.
