My heart is steadfast, O God; my heart is steadfast. I will sing and make melody.

They are not afraid of evil tidings; their hearts are firm, secure in the Lord.

The wicked have laid a snare for me, but I do not stray from your precepts.

I say to the Lord, “You are my God; give ear, O Lord, to the voice of my supplications.”

Keep me from the trap that they have laid for me and from the snares of evildoers.

I sought the Lord, and he answered me and delivered me from all my fears.

For without cause they hid their net for me; without cause they dug a pit for my life.

Their mischief returns upon their own heads, and on their own heads their violence descends.

Therefore in the east give glory to the Lord; in the coastlands of the sea glorify the name of the Lord, the God of Israel.

And not only that, but we also boast in our afflictions, knowing that affliction produces endurance,

giving thanks to God the Father at all times and for everything in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ,
