Attend to me and answer me; I am troubled in my complaint. I am distraught
Hear a just cause, O Lord; attend to my cry; give ear to my prayer from lips free of deceit.
While I kept silent, my body wasted away through my groaning all day long.
I am utterly bowed down and prostrate; all day long I go around mourning.
For you are the God in whom I take refuge; why have you cast me off? Why must I walk about mournfully because of the oppression of the enemy?
Hear my voice, O God, in my complaint; preserve my life from the dread enemy.
But truly God has listened; he has heard the words of my prayer.
I think of God, and I moan; I meditate, and my spirit faints. Selah
Like a swallow or a crane I clamor; I moan like a dove. My eyes are weary with looking upward. O Lord, I am oppressed; be my security!
We all growl like bears; like doves we moan mournfully. We wait for justice, but there is none; for salvation, but it is far from us.
you heard my plea, “Do not close your ear to my cry for help, but give me relief!”
