Guarantee your servant’s well-being; do not let the godless oppress me.
I myself will be surety for him; you can hold me accountable for him. If I do not bring him back to you and set him before you, then let me bear the blame forever.
“Lay down a pledge for me with yourself; who is there who will give surety for me?
You rebuke the insolent, accursed ones, who wander from your commandments;
Do not let the foot of the arrogant tread on me or the hand of the wicked drive me away.
Like a swallow or a crane I clamor; I moan like a dove. My eyes are weary with looking upward. O Lord, I am oppressed; be my security!
accordingly Jesus has also become the guarantor of a better covenant.
