How much better to get wisdom than gold! To get understanding is to be chosen rather than silver.

Truly I love your commandments more than gold, more than fine gold.

if you seek it like silver and search for it as for hidden treasures—

Happy are those who find wisdom and those who get understanding,

for her income is better than silver and her revenue better than gold.

Get wisdom; get insight: do not forget nor turn away from the words of my mouth.

The beginning of wisdom is this: get wisdom, and whatever else you get, get insight.

My fruit is better than gold, even fine gold, and my yield than choice silver.

For the protection of wisdom is like the protection of money, and the advantage of knowledge is that wisdom gives life to the one who possesses it.

For what will it profit them if they gain the whole world but forfeit their life? Or what will they give in return for their life?

So it is with those who store up treasures for themselves but are not rich toward God.”
