Whoever loves discipline loves knowledge, but those who hate to be rebuked are stupid.

Make me understand the way of your precepts, and I will meditate on your wondrous works.

Let the righteous strike me; let the faithful correct me. Never let the oil of the wicked anoint my head, for my prayer is continually against their wicked deeds.

Do not be like a horse or a mule, without understanding, whose temper must be curbed with bit and bridle, else it will not stay near you.

For you hate discipline, and you cast my words behind you.

The dullard cannot know; the stupid cannot understand this:

I love those who love me, and those who seek me diligently find me.

“And now, my children, listen to me: happy are those who keep my ways.

but those who miss me injure themselves; all who hate me love death.”

The ox knows its owner and the donkey its master’s crib, but Israel does not know; my people do not understand.

The priest shall make an examination, and if there is a white swelling in the skin that has turned the hair white and there is a patch of raw flesh in the swelling,

and every kind of wicked deception for those who are perishing because they refused to love the truth and so be saved.
