You should not have entered the gate of my people on the day of their calamity; you should not have joined in the gloating over Judah’s disaster on the day of his calamity; you should not have stolen his goods on the day of his calamity.

therefore prophesy and say: Thus says the Lord God: Because they made you desolate indeed and crushed you from all sides, so that you became the possession of the rest of the nations and an object of gossip and slander among the people,

and I am extremely angry with the nations that are at ease, for while I was only a little angry, they made the disaster worse.
