But I say to you: Do not resist an evildoer. But if anyone strikes you on the right cheek, turn the other also,

For we know that the law is spiritual, but I am of the flesh, sold into slavery under sin.

“If a man is discovered lying with the wife of another man, both of them shall die, the man who lay with the woman as well as the woman. So you shall purge the evil from Israel.

They have eyes full of adultery, insatiable for sin. They entice unsteady souls. They have hearts trained in greed. Accursed children!

for all that is in the world—the desire of the flesh, the desire of the eyes, the pride in riches—comes not from the Father but from the world.
