The Lord was pleased, for the sake of his righteousness, to magnify his teaching and make it glorious.

But Jesus answered him, “Let it be so now, for it is proper for us in this way to fulfill all righteousness.” Then he consented.

“In everything do to others as you would have them do to you, for this is the Law and the Prophets.

But it is easier for heaven and earth to pass away than for one stroke of a letter in the law to be dropped.

Now in the law Moses commanded us to stone such women. Now what do you say?”

They said, “This man is persuading people to worship God in ways that are contrary to the law.”

shouting, “Fellow Israelites, help! This is the man who is teaching everyone everywhere against our people, our law, and this place; more than that, he has actually brought Greeks into the temple and has defiled this holy place.”

They set up false witnesses who said, “This man never stops saying things against this holy place and the law,

For Christ is the culmination of the law so that there may be righteousness for everyone who believes.

Do we then overthrow the law through this faith? By no means! On the contrary, we uphold the law.

so that the just requirement of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not according to the flesh but according to the Spirit.
