But when they heard that he was alive and had been seen by her, they would not believe it.
If I summoned him and he answered me, I do not believe that he would listen to my voice.
Moses told this to the Israelites, but they would not listen to Moses, because of their broken spirit and their cruel slavery.
When they saw him, they worshiped him, but they doubted.
He answered them, “You faithless generation, how much longer must I be with you? How much longer must I put up with you? Bring him to me.”
But these words seemed to them an idle tale, and they did not believe them.
Yet for all their joy they were still disbelieving and wondering, and he said to them, “Have you anything here to eat?”
So the other disciples told him, “We have seen the Lord.” But he said to them, “Unless I see the mark of the nails in his hands and put my finger in the mark of the nails and my hand in his side, I will not believe.”
