and said to him, “Tell us, by what authority are you doing these things? Who is it who gave you this authority?”
He answered, “Who made you a ruler and judge over us? Do you mean to kill me as you killed the Egyptian?” Then Moses was afraid and thought, “Surely the thing is known.”
One day as he was teaching the people in the temple and proclaiming the good news, the chief priests and the scribes came with the elders
He answered them, “I will also ask you a question, and you tell me:
The Jews then said to him, “What sign can you show us for doing this?”
But the man who was wronging his neighbor pushed Moses aside, saying, ‘Who made you a ruler and a judge over us?
“You stiff-necked people, uncircumcised in heart and ears, you are forever opposing the Holy Spirit, just as your ancestors used to do.
