And they could not reply to this.

For they no longer dared to ask him another question.

But they could not withstand the wisdom and the Spirit with which he spoke.

for I will give you words and a wisdom that none of your opponents will be able to withstand or contradict.

And they were not able in the presence of the people to trap him by what he said, and being amazed by his answer they became silent.

When he said this, all his opponents were put to shame, and the entire crowd was rejoicing at all the wonderful things being done by him.

No one was able to give him an answer, nor from that day did anyone dare to ask him any more questions.
