The Lord has become like an enemy; he has destroyed Israel. He has destroyed all its palaces, laid in ruins its strongholds, and multiplied in daughter Judah mourning and lamentation.

He spread it before me; it had writing on the front and on the back, and written on it were words of lamentation and mourning and woe.

Samuel said, “Why then do you ask me, since the Lord has turned from you and become your enemy?
