Then her husband set out after her, to speak tenderly to her and bring her back. He had with him his servant and a couple of donkeys. When he reached her father’s house, the young woman’s father saw him and came with joy to meet him.

After a while, at the time of the wheat harvest, Samson went to visit his wife, bringing along a kid. He said, “I want to go into my wife’s room.” But her father would not allow him to go in.

God’s anger was kindled because he was going, and the angel of the Lord took his stand in the road as his adversary. Now he was riding on the donkey, and his two servants were with him.

“If a man commits adultery with the wife of his neighbor, both the adulterer and the adulteress shall be put to death.

“You shall not hate in your heart anyone of your kin; you shall reprove your neighbor, or you will incur guilt yourself.

But his concubine became angry with him, and she went away from him to her father’s house at Bethlehem in Judah and was there some four months.

His father-in-law, the young woman’s father, made him stay, and he remained with him three days; so they ate and drank, and he stayed there.

As morning appeared, the woman came and fell down at the door of the man’s house where her master was, until it was light.

On that day, says the Lord, you will call me “my husband,” and no longer will you call me “my Baal.”
