The Lord thundered from heaven; the Most High uttered his voice.

when he made a decree for the rain, and a way for the thunderbolt,

Can anyone understand the spreading of the clouds, the thunderings of his pavilion?

Its crashing tells about him; he is jealous with anger against iniquity.

“At this also my heart trembles and leaps out of its place.

After it his voice roars; he thunders with his majestic voice, and he does not restrain the lightnings when his voice is heard.

God thunders wondrously with his voice; he does great things that we cannot comprehend.

Then the Lord answered Job out of the whirlwind:

Have you an arm like God, and can you thunder with a voice like his?

At your rebuke they flee; at the sound of your thunder they take to flight.

When he utters his voice there is a tumult of waters in the heavens, and he makes the mist rise from the ends of the earth. He makes lightnings for the rain, and he brings out the wind from his storehouses.
