In the days of his flesh, Jesus offered up prayers and supplications, with loud cries and tears, to the one who was able to save him from death, and he was heard because of his reverent submission.

I pour out my complaint before him; I tell my trouble before him.

In return for my love they accuse me, even while I make prayer for them.

Surely there are mockers around me, and my eye dwells on their provocation.

I also could talk as you do, if you were in my place; I could join words together against you and shake my head at you.

Surely now God has worn me out; he has made desolate all my company.

“He has put my family far from me, and my acquaintances are wholly estranged from me.

“Remember now, O Lord, I implore you, how I have walked before you in faithfulness with a whole heart and have done what is good in your sight.” Hezekiah wept bitterly.

Oh, that I knew where I might find him, that I might come even to his dwelling!
