Jeremiah 36:31

And I will punish him and his offspring and his servants for their iniquity; I will bring on them and on the inhabitants of Jerusalem and on the people of Judah all the disasters with which I have threatened them, but they would not listen.

He will repay them for their iniquity and wipe them out for their wickedness; the Lord our God will wipe them out.

One who is often reproved, yet remains stubborn, will suddenly be broken beyond healing.

Yet they did not obey or incline their ear, but everyone walked in the stubbornness of an evil will. So I brought upon them all the words of this covenant, which I commanded them to do, but they did not.

Let my persecutors be shamed, but do not let me be shamed; let them be dismayed, but do not let me be dismayed; bring on them the day of disaster; destroy them with double destruction!

Thus says the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel: I am now bringing upon this city and upon all its towns all the disaster that I have pronounced against it, because they have stiffened their necks, refusing to hear my words.

And as for the prophet, priest, or the people who say, “The burden of the Lord,” I will punish them and their households.

therefore thus says the Lord: I am going to punish Shemaiah of Nehelam and his descendants; he shall not have anyone living among this people to see the good that I am going to do to my people, says the Lord, for he has spoken rebellion against the Lord.

Therefore, thus says the Lord, the God of hosts, the God of Israel: I am going to bring on Judah and on all the inhabitants of Jerusalem every disaster that I have pronounced against them, because I have spoken to them and they have not listened, I have called to them and they have not answered.

He did what was evil in the sight of the Lord, just as Jehoiakim had done.

Soon now I will pour out my wrath upon you; I will spend my anger against you. I will judge you according to your ways and punish you for all your abominations.

My eye will not spare; I will have no pity. I will punish you according to your ways while your abominations are among you. Then you shall know that it is I the Lord who strike.

“But if you will not obey me and do not observe all these commandments,

“Jerusalem, Jerusalem, the city that kills the prophets and stones those who are sent to it! How often have I desired to gather your children together as a hen gathers her brood under her wings, and you were not willing!
