From the ends of the earth we hear songs of praise, of glory to the Righteous One. But I say, “I pine away; I pine away. Woe is me! For the treacherous deal treacherously; the treacherous deal very treacherously.”
You have never heard; you have never known; from of old your ear has not been opened. For I knew that you would act very treacherously and that from birth you were called a rebel.
You will be in the right, O Lord, when I lay charges against you, but let me put my case to you. Why does the way of the guilty prosper? Why do all who are treacherous thrive?

Judah has been faithless, and abomination has been committed in Israel and in Jerusalem, for Judah has profaned the sanctuary of the Lord, which he loves, and has married the daughter of a foreign god.
