Thus said the Lord: Go and buy a potter’s earthenware jug. Take with you some of the elders of the people and some of the senior priests,

Then you shall break the jug in the sight of those who go with you

This shall be the sign to you, says the Lord, that I am going to punish you in this place, in order that you may know that my words of disaster against you will surely be carried out:

This will be a sign for you: you will find a child wrapped in bands of cloth and lying in a manger.”
