Foreigners shall build up your walls, and their kings shall minister to you, for in my wrath I struck you down, but in my favor I have had mercy on you.

Strangers shall stand and feed your flocks; foreigners shall till your land and dress your vines,

Kings shall be your foster fathers and their queens your nursing mothers. With their faces to the ground they shall bow down to you and lick the dust of your feet. Then you will know that I am the Lord; those who wait for me shall not be put to shame.

People will bring into it the glory and the honor of the nations.

The nations will walk by its light, and the kings of the earth will bring their glory into it.

“Those who are far off shall come and help to build the temple of the Lord, and you shall know that the Lord of hosts has sent me to you. This will happen if you diligently obey the voice of the Lord your God.”

Nations shall come to your light and kings to the brightness of your dawn.

You will say on that day: “I will give thanks to you, O Lord, for though you were angry with me, your anger turned away, and you comforted me.

For his anger is but for a moment; his favor is for a lifetime. Weeping may linger for the night, but joy comes with the morning.

And I will also take some of them as priests and as Levites, says the Lord.

You will rise up and have compassion on Zion, for it is time to favor it; the appointed time has come.

And the foreigners who join themselves to the Lord, to minister to him, to love the name of the Lord, and to be his servants, all who keep the Sabbath and do not profane it and hold fast my covenant—

to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor and the day of vengeance of our God, to comfort all who mourn,

Do not be exceedingly angry, O Lord, and do not remember iniquity forever. Now consider, we are all your people.

Then the Lord became jealous for his land and had pity on his people.
