who brings princes to naught and makes the rulers of the earth as nothing.

He leads priests away stripped and overthrows the mighty.

He pours contempt on princes and looses the belt of the strong.

he pours contempt on princes and makes them wander in trackless wastes,

who cuts off the spirit of princes, who inspires fear in the kings of the earth.

The haughty eyes of people shall be brought low, and the pride of everyone shall be humbled, and the Lord alone will be exalted on that day.

For the Lord of hosts has a day against all that is proud and lofty, against all that is lifted up and high;

The Lord of hosts has planned it— to defile the pride of all glory, to shame all the honored of the earth.

They shall call its nobles No Kingdom There, and all its princes shall be nothing.

Woe to those who are wise in their own eyes and shrewd in their own sight!

I will cut off the ruler from its midst and will kill all its officials with him, says the Lord.
