Asa and the army with him pursued them as far as Gerar, and the Cushites fell until no one remained alive, for they were broken before the Lord and his army. The people of Judah carried away a great quantity of spoil.

When Jehoshaphat and his people came to take the spoil from them, they found livestock in great numbers, goods, clothing, and precious things, which they took for themselves until they could carry no more. They spent three days taking the spoil because of its abundance.

Your rigging hangs loose; it cannot hold the mast firm in its place or keep the sail spread out. Then the blind will divide abundant spoil, and the lame will take plunder.

At the sound of tumult, peoples fled; before your majesty, nations scattered.

The Lord is exalted; he dwells on high; he filled Zion with justice and righteousness;

therefore I have stretched out my hand against you and will hand you over as plunder to the nations. I will cut you off from the peoples and will make you perish out of the countries; I will destroy you. Then you shall know that I am the Lord.

What the cutting locust left, the swarming locust has eaten; what the swarming locust left, the hopping locust has eaten; and what the hopping locust left, the destroying locust has eaten.

I will repay you for the years that the swarming locust has eaten, the hopper, the destroyer, and the cutter, my great army that I sent against you.

Fire devours in front of them, and behind them a flame burns. Before them the land is like the garden of Eden, but after them a desolate wilderness, and nothing escapes them.

They leap upon the city; they run upon the walls; they climb up into the houses; they enter through the windows like a thief.
