You have plowed wickedness; you have reaped injustice; you have eaten the fruit of lies. Because you have trusted in your chariots, in the multitude of your warriors,
Again I saw that under the sun the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, nor bread to the wise, nor riches to the intelligent, nor favor to the skillful, but time and chance happen to them all.
though you make them grow on the day that you plant them and make them blossom in the morning that you sow, yet the harvest will flee away in a day of sickness and incurable pain.
For they sow the wind, and they shall reap the whirlwind. The standing grain has no heads; it shall yield no meal; if it were to yield, foreigners would devour it.
