Indeed, so terrifying was the sight that Moses said, “I tremble with fear.”)
On the morning of the third day there was thunder and lightning, as well as a thick cloud on the mountain and a blast of a trumpet so loud that all the people who were in the camp trembled.
For I was afraid that the anger that the Lord bore against you was so fierce that he would destroy you. But the Lord listened to me that time also.
As the blast of the trumpet grew louder and louder, Moses would speak and God would answer him in thunder.
When I saw him, I fell at his feet as though dead. But he placed his right hand on me, saying, “Do not be afraid; I am the First and the Last
My flesh trembles for fear of you, and I am afraid of your judgments.
How can my lord’s servant talk with my lord? For I am exhausted; no strength remains in me, and no breath is left in me.”
So I was left alone to see this great vision. My strength left me, and my complexion grew deathly pale, and I retained no strength.
