Because you have raged against me and your arrogance has come to my ears, I will put my hook in your nose and my bit in your mouth; I will turn you back on the way by which you came.

while their inhabitants, shorn of strength, are dismayed and confounded; they have become like plants of the field and like tender grass, like grass on the housetops that is scorched before the east wind.

because they have perpetrated outrage in Israel and have committed adultery with their neighbors’ wives and have spoken in my name lying words that I did not command them; I am the one who knows and bears witness, says the Lord.

Make him drunk because he magnified himself against the Lord; let Moab wallow in his vomit; he, too, shall become a laughingstock.

Moab shall be destroyed as a people, because he magnified himself against the Lord.

Has this house, which is called by my name, become a den of robbers in your sight? I, too, am watching, says the Lord.

You have spoken harsh words against me, says the Lord. Yet you say, “How have we spoken against you?”

and they said, “Has the Lord spoken only through Moses? Has he not spoken through us also?” And the Lord heard it.

“How long shall this wicked congregation complain against me? I have heard the complaints of the Israelites, which they complain against me.

For they speak bombastic nonsense, and with debased desires of the flesh they entice people who have just escaped from those who live in error.

to execute judgment on all and to convict all the ungodly of all the deeds of ungodliness that they have committed in such an ungodly way and of all the harsh things that ungodly sinners have spoken against him.”

Talk no more so very proudly; let not arrogance come from your mouth, for the Lord is a God of knowledge, and by him actions are weighed.
