A proclamation was made throughout Judah and Jerusalem to bring in for the Lord the tax that Moses the servant of God laid on Israel in the wilderness.

and he is gracious to that person and says, ‘Deliver him from going down into the Pit; I have found a ransom;

Beware that wrath does not entice you into scoffing, and do not let the greatness of the ransom turn you aside.

Truly, no ransom avails for one’s life; there is no price one can give to God for it.

And we have brought the Lord’s offering, what each of us found, articles of gold, armlets and bracelets, signet rings, earrings, and pendants, to make atonement for ourselves before the Lord.”
