Pharaoh arose in the night, he and all his officials and all the Egyptians, and there was a loud cry in Egypt, for there was not a house without someone dead.
He made a path for his anger; he did not spare them from death but gave their lives over to the plague.
He said to them, “The Lord indeed will be with you, if ever I let your little ones go with you! Plainly, you have some evil purpose in mind.
Then there will be a loud cry throughout the whole land of Egypt, such as has never been or will ever be again.
If you close your ear to the cry of the poor, you will cry out and not be heard.
in all the vineyards there shall be wailing, for I will pass through the midst of you, says the Lord.
Before him went pestilence, and plague followed close behind.

For judgment will be without mercy to anyone who has shown no mercy; mercy triumphs over judgment.
