beyond the Jordan in the valley opposite Beth-peor, in the land of King Sihon of the Amorites, who reigned at Heshbon, whom Moses and the Israelites defeated when they came out of Egypt.

And you gave them kingdoms and peoples and allotted to them every corner, so they took possession of the land of King Sihon of Heshbon and the land of King Og of Bashan.

So they killed him, his sons, and all his people, until there was no survivor left, and they took possession of his land.

We will not inherit with them on the other side of the Jordan and beyond, because our inheritance has come to us on this side of the Jordan to the east.”

These are the words that Moses spoke to all Israel beyond the Jordan—in the wilderness, on the plain opposite Suph, between Paran and Tophel, Laban, Hazeroth, and Di-zahab.

So we remained in the valley opposite Beth-peor.

“So at that time we took from the two kings of the Amorites the land beyond the Jordan, from the Wadi Arnon to Mount Hermon

He buried him in a valley in the land of Moab, opposite Beth-peor, but no one knows his burial place to this day.

These are the decrees and the statutes and ordinances that Moses spoke to the Israelites when they had come out of Egypt,

They occupied his land and the land of King Og of Bashan, the two kings of the Amorites on the eastern side of the Jordan:

Now these are the kings of the land whom the Israelites defeated, whose land they occupied beyond the Jordan toward the east, from the Wadi Arnon to Mount Hermon, with all the Arabah eastward:

I sent swarms of hornets ahead of you that drove out before you the two kings of the Amorites; it was not by your sword or by your bow.
