You should rather open your hand, willingly lending enough to meet the need, whatever it may be.

They are ever giving liberally and lending, and their children become a blessing.

Whoever is kind to the poor lends to the Lord and will be repaid in full.

“If any of your kin fall into difficulty and become dependent on you, you shall support them; they shall live with you as though resident aliens.

Give to the one who asks of you, and do not refuse anyone who wants to borrow from you.

If you lend to those from whom you expect to receive payment, what credit is that to you? Even sinners lend to sinners, to receive as much again.
