For false messiahs and false prophets will appear and produce great signs and wonders, to lead astray, if possible, even the elect.

So, if they say to you, ‘Look! He is in the wilderness,’ do not go out. If they say, ‘Look! He is in the inner rooms,’ do not believe it.

For many will come in my name, saying, ‘I am the Messiah!’ and they will lead many astray.

Even so, many will follow their debaucheries, and because of these teachers the way of truth will be maligned.

These are grumblers and malcontents; they indulge their lusts; their mouths utter bombastic nonsense, flattering people to their own advantage.

So he carried me away in the spirit into a wilderness, and I saw a woman sitting on a scarlet beast that was full of blasphemous names, and it had seven heads and ten horns.
