In the time of King Herod, after Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea, magi from the east came to Jerusalem,

One of them named Agabus stood up and predicted by the Spirit that there would be a severe famine over all the world, and this took place during the reign of Claudius.

For Paul had decided to sail past Ephesus, so that he might not have to spend time in Asia; he was eager to be in Jerusalem, if possible, on the day of Pentecost.

We looked up the disciples and stayed there for seven days. Through the Spirit they told Paul not to go on to Jerusalem.

When we had finished the voyage from Tyre, we arrived at Ptolemais, and we greeted the brothers and sisters and stayed with them for one day.
